my only point of contention is that neighborhood isn’t upper middle class. The homes are 4,000-6,000 sq ft and a few north of $4M-$5M. even with Bay Area adjustment for cost of living and income that’s well into upper class/just plain rich territory.

Lots of rich people drive surprisingly pedestrian vehicles. The Koch corporation is based out of Wichita. I worked at a Chevy dealership here which had a “We pick your car up for you” option for our wealthier clients. The Kochs? They drive leased Chevy Tahoes.
