Yet another instance of cultural misappropriation.

SNL didn’t change, your perception of it just changed. The cold open has, forever, been about broad and referential comedy, where the jokes usually grab at the lowest hanging fruit and rely for their humor on the broad shared premise, rather than any key insight or scathing critique. Likewise, they’ve never been

No one commenting on Trump actually has the ability to deny him treatment. And I don’t think anyone is denying that he has a “right to treatment.”  What are you even talking about?

I don’t think anyone is acting shocked about it.

Great. Again, parenting priorities are different. For me, for a variety of reasons, it is not worth forcing my kids to go hungry or forcing a fight or a tantrum, which is unpleasant for me and I imagine produces a fair amount of anxiety. I honestly don’t care whether their expressed preference is borne of immaturity

I don’t necessarily think having a fight over turning video games off and having a fight over me forcing a kid to eat something he says he doesn’t like or making him go without food are the same thing. But in any event, yes, you have to force your kid to do things they don’t want to do, that is indeed part of being a

Thanks, but I’m guessing most parents are aware that they can just refuse to give kids what they want. For a variety of reasons, I’m not particularly interested in making my kids go hungry if I make something they haven’t tasted before and they say they don’t like it. Nor am I interested in having a fight or inducing

Let what happen?  Your kids eat full sized, adult portions?

When I first saw this tweet, I was mostly just confused. What does it mean that you are not going to “assent” to a kid’s menu? That you aren’t ever going to order off one for your kids? I mean, alright, enjoy paying $15 or $20 for an adult entree that your 7 year old will take 3 bites of. Or is she, like, going to

Yeah, some people maybe want to socialize but don’t love going to places with a bunch of drunk people.  Or maybe they want to socialize but are in recovery and being around a bunch of people drinking isn’t healthy.

Are you kidding? In that video, he was running away from people who were trying to stop him and disarm him because he had just shot and killed someone. You don’t get to kill someone, and then claim self-defense when you shoot bystanders who witnessed you killing someone try to disarm you so you don’t keep killing

I bet there is scientific reasoning backing it.  If I had to guess, beer probably dehydrates you less than straight liquor, so your hangovers are less severe than if you drink liquor.

My point is who cares what irresponsible behavior might lead to a car being on its roof? If cars can be made so that a rollover is more survivable, regardless of the poor decisions that led to the car being on its roof, then they should be.  That is the point of this article, and the point I am making.

I’m all for better driver training and more robust licensing exams. But that is not mutually exclusive to making a safer car. No matter how much you training you put into the front end, people are still going to drive when they’re dangerously tired, going to drive after having four beers because they feel fine, going
