I just remember especially in the last stages that were restricted to Gears only that the equipment was the bottleneck for progress. The robot battle areas are a bit of a bottleneck, as it’s limited entirely to what kind of gear you have equipped, and the equipment you can get is only so good.

Xenogears. Upscaled graphics, maybe some more animated cut scenes, a proper Disc 2, and the ability to speed up or skip text.

For me the SNES graphics are part of the nostalgia of Chrono Trigger. Updating from sprites to polygon meshes would feel weird to me.
