I mean, until he had that kid tortured and murdered.

She probably enjoyed sex once, that whore.

Yeah, Jesus knew better than anybody what an asshole God is.

Yeah, that's a basic tenet of Christianity. God's creation is so fucked up that only horrific suffering can reconcile it to him. It's hideous.

Yeah, he may have tried to hide it, but I think Jesus had his old man's temper.

Very unfair.

In principle, I agree with you entirely.

I'm a firm believer, insofar as americans are concerned, in "Not all republicans are racist. But all racists ARE republicans"

painting everybody there as Nazis or racists is wrong

For fuck's sake.

Yep. I agree with all of that.

I'm to the point now, with some of my relatives, where I just say things like, "Yeah, but you only say that because you're a racist." Sometimes they just change the subject, but I guess it's something that occasionally they actually start back-pedaling.

As I've suggested, I realized after getting into this conversation that I might be a little too mushy-headed at the moment to really pursue it, but I don't think there's any question that Trump is essentially a fascist, so no disagreement there.

Meyers' angry, "Are you fucking kidding me?" approach resonates more for me, whereas Colbert just seems a little more . . . smirking, maybe?

Not sure enough to debate the point, really. I just suspect that it's more a matter of people who were always racists crawling out of the woodwork with greater confidence now that they have an ally in the White House.

Yeah, I'm just being scrupulous, in part because I'm sort of persuaded by the argument that Trump isn't really an ideologue. In his head, I don't think it's neo-Nazis and rascists versus liberals and ant-fascists or whatever. . . . It's just "people who like me and people who don't."

With all of the issues the last few days have raised, it really seems like you've picked a good hill to die on.

I don't know if it's becoming more widely accepted. It's just shocking to hear the fucking President of the United States practically come out and say it.

It's got to be an inconceivably tough job, being president, and being emotionally stunted and fundamentally incompetent can't make it any easier.

Yeah, I don't follow any of the late night guys beyond clips like this now and then, but based on that limited sampling, Meyers is probably my favorite. It's gotta be tough to keep bringing the funny without diluting the essential moral outrage, and it seems to me like he does an even better job of it than Colbert.
