KTB, it’s kind of you to think of me in this regard, but Metamorphosis and its sequels aren’t my books: they’re Jean Lorrah’s. My linked Trek works were the Rihannsu sequence beginning with My Enemy, My Ally and ending in The Empty Chair.
Kshcang, I'm sorry, but "Enemy/Ally" is indeed the first of the Rihannsu books: later books were of no one's invention but mine. There was a long gap between the first two books and the remaining ones due to weird life events (marriage, for one: "Romulan Way" was written my honeymoon with my cowriter, Peter Morwood)…
