I know that she can't sue for wrongful termination, though she should be able to. Still, we can try to help her get her job back by making sufficient noise to scare the Days Inn into rehiring her (by threatening not to use them ever again).

I don't think firing someone for being a bigot is the same as firing someone for answering questions about the minimum wage. A bigot is a person who is (theoretically) harming other employees and/or customers with his or her words and actions, either creating a toxic work environment or reducing revenue. Either is a…
Done and done (I registered my disgust).
I know that certain kinks are more palatable than others (for different people), but I don't think that matters so much (at least it wouldn't matter to me). That's a reflection of the writer's own desires, psyche, and whatnot, and I wouldn't want to dismiss anything for fear of being hurtful. At the end of the day, I…
That's a really good point. In the article I linked, the author indicated that many fanfic writers are non-conforming people (either in terms of gender or orientation).
Some RPF writers might only like the celebrities' physical form. I don't know. But I think that other writers do incorporate their personality traits (as best as they can discern).
I don't necessarily think RPF writers are deciding who the people in question are. They are asking the question "What if?" and exploring that in writing, which has no reality or bearing on the real world.
RPF/RPS is definitely a trickier part of fanfiction. But I think it's harmless. The truth of a person's sexuality is a constant that no story can change. No one (as far as I know) is quoting RPF as proof that a real person's sexuality is not what that person claims.
I read an interesting article about fanfic recently. This part especially I found insightful.
As someone who has been subject to bodily function talk (humorous and otherwise) from male friends and family members a bazillion times (male friends and family members who would run like the word 'menstruate' was 'fire' if uttered in their presence), I just have to say
Thanks for the rec! I will :-)
Is it? I thought that one was the speaker asking Jolene not to take her man...saying Jolene could do better but the speaker cannot...this is a jealousy song, but it talks about possessing the other girl, not asking the other girl to mercifully back off...
ah...sorry. I missed the sarcasm :-)
Unfortunately, parents of child stars don't seem to be advocating for their children.
you might be onto something there.
I am also confused. I don't get the point except that quacks get to make money for offering the 'treatment'.
Good point ... thank you for that. I've briefly stopped rage crying.
We are in DEEEEEEEEEEEEEP shit trouble...
I gotta say — despite not being that much of a country fan — I like this song!
PS: Tell me he got sued or arrested....something
