@sequined: I don't know... as a POC, it was hardly confidence building to have to spend 4 hours straightening my hair only to know that it would never be as straight/silky/whatever as finer (ugh, for a lack of a better word) hair. You're speaking to a very specific hair type and a beauty aesthetic built around -your-

No matter how "classy" you think these hairstyles are, I see short hair all the time on straight women in Chicago... there's just a race difference, a big one. While AA's are pressured to have long hair by a white beauty ideal, I don't think having short hair is necessarily associated with being a Lesbian as some of

@TopLevelExecutive: his recent 'behind the music' where they caught up with him now was PAINFUL to watch.

@NobleKinsman: I never really got him in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". However, now I see the appeal. He needs to take Conan on as his straight man.

@leftoverhill: It just came out. I'm sure that SO many companies, etc offer to give like 85 of whatever away during this episode. They really have their pick of what gets to be on. (the studio is really tiny, so they really don't even have to give that many away)

@gladiatrix, formerly the Happy Hydrozoan: They all get everything. It's a surprise show, you never know what show you're going to be on when you attend (I took my mom to a show once, not the holiday special). So it's sort of mind melting.

@julieannie: I have a feeling that shy me will chicken out at the last moment, I can see the pat down from here. I've heard some pretty gnarly stories, I wish it was clear where they can, and cannot touch. I think I'll try to find something...somewhere, and then ask the person before they do it what the rules are to

Not trying to threadjack, but as a woman that hasn't gone through this, do Jezebel readers have any resources on how to decline the scanner, or try to get around the pat-down? Or even what's considered off limits now in terms of being touched?

Now playing

I refuse to believe that this pop band is the same one that did this video. Refuse.

@MorboKat: That is true, and I am a designer for a living. It's funny, I've known three co-workers so far (all graphic design as well) that have designed their wedding rings. I think we're all control freaks.

@MorboKat: I just got a black plague, early epidemiology visual from that, which is pretty great. Now, if only there were dressy gauges in larger sizes...

@keldo: It's okay, I've had it in cocktails. I just wouldn't own a bottle of it.

@msmoneypenny misses MizJ: I do the same design thing with St. Germain. I WANT to like it because of the bottle.

There was a whole slew of these that came out around the Blagoyevich scandal. They varied in contents, all except of course the Effen vodka.

So many points for using the word "miasma".

Good to know my cigarette breaks are feminist.

@jespree: I totally agree. I get bank statements, bills... and whatever I get myself online.

I'm not going to lie, if I had all the money in the world, I'd buy things online all the time in order to go downstairs to the front desk of my building and sign for them. It really feels nice to get a package in the mail.
