@south2nd: It just seems very.... Bridal and very late 80's/early 90's.

What an odd choice of suit.
@YoungBayardRustin: I'd like more of a discussion on it, sure. Especially because, and I don't know if anyone else went through this, but as the only black kid in every class growing up, I started to really dislike being pushed towards movies/books like this one, To Kill A Mocking Bird, Beloved, etc... because they've…
@highjump: Popping mine right now.
@BringerofthePain: They're hardly half white/half "other" looking. There's a trend of mixed actors, or minority actors, that look mostly white making their way into casts instead of more "ethnic" looking people respectively. And it hasn't stopped SNL in the past even putting the most "wasp" looking Caucasians in…
@BringerofthePain: Part of why these people were cast, though, was in what race they read to an audience. I not ignoring what you're saying, but you have to admit there was a point in what I was saying.
@small-fox: I'm originally west coast as well, it freaks me out. Granted, the area of the west coast I'm from was super white, so the fact that there were even other POCs around was strange at first.
@small-fox: Yes, the TAL segment illustrated it perfectly. It put a sick feeling in my stomach, living in that neighborhood as a POC.
I know this is a commercial, and they're trying to sell a product... but I love that the female and male version of this campaign are nearly identical in their message. I'm deathly afraid of gyms and sports, but this is a pretty motivating piece.
@crazylazy: Gawker covers the episodes... but I wish they would here as well.
You might want to reexamine your cast when you have a white guy playing the president COMBINED with a white guy playing the Chinese leader with a white woman (presumably) playing his Chinese translator.
@rhoswhen: We're trying. It should be within the next month's time, squeezed in between holidays.
@SwishSwishSpit: Really? I agree about the track suits, but moving from the pacific northwest toChicago the main thing I noticed was the label/status obsession. I had heard of Tiffany, coach, Burberry, etc, but I had never seen so much of them until I moved here. The little Tiffany chain necklaces and bracelets, the…
@small-fox: God that place disturbs me to no end. Please say he wasn't there for their late night "antics".
@lalie (apologetic mess): Vote early, vote often!
@magnets: Maybe they reached their minority quota. I mean, they've got Fred Armisen for black people, amiright?!
I bet that Donald Glover from Community could do a bangup impression of this guy. His character Troy and this guy have similar "blank" facial expressions from time to time.
Hm, it is a complicated question. I think it totally depends on the style. Hip hop? Sure, I could see a same sex couple being able to do that okay (especially if it isn't a lift heavy routine, a lot of side by side stuff).
@Excusado: Haha, no. I would just say picture the all-black uniform of a graphic designer and mix it with pacific northwest grunge origins.
@you've got red on you: 400 sq. foot studio, here. :(
