Yep, it covers hormonal birth control, over $100 a month, but a one time payment of $70 for the diaphragm, it won't cover. Crazy.

I mean it is hard to NOT think that. I can't understand why women who don't want/need hormonal bc aren't given the diaphragm as an option?? It really boils my blood.

I have had drs talk down to me about the diaphragm as well, so unethical, everybody should be allowed to make whatever choice they want. Also, my insurance wouldn't cover it and in NYC no duane reade/cvs even carry them. crazy.

Yeah that is what my dr said too...just went out of style. But some things are timeless, like not getting pregnant, when you don't to. :-)

I love it too! I don't understand why american women seem so resistant to it. Did your obygn give you a hard time about getting one? Mine did, told me that I would "probably not like it." She was wrong.

I wish that more women (in the US) would consider the diaphragm...I am the only one of all my friends (all in our mid-30s) who uses one....in fact the only other person I know who has used one is my mom...we have had some very awkward convos.
