Yup. I do also like the idea that for the resources needed for 1 BEV, you could potentially have at least 5 PHEVs, which seems like a better deal when we're talking about reducing emissions or fossil fuel use (of course, assuming people are plugging in their PHEV).

Confucius has a quote along the lines of “learning without thought is useless; thought without learning is dangerous.”

Yeah, the PHEV angle would be my proxy for opting for the smallest battery possible. The engine would serve as a range extender for me.

I looked into the article in hopes that some nuance was lost, and that responses were for hybrids and PHEVs over BEVs.

I wonder if it’s precisely because of your family’s professional knowledge that your brother (you didn’t mention what he does, so I’m assuming he’s not in the medical or research field) is “rebelling” against the prevailing understanding.

And the Teamsters are saying “this is our guy?”

Yup. Hard to determine which was worse between the deliberate and calculated brutality of Unit 731, or the mass-scale psychotic barbarity of the Rape of Nanking...

If I drive a Taurus SHO, I think I'd be humming the Robocop theme everytime I was behind the wheel...

I wonder if the next step is to equip every EV with fire retardant foam that entombs the battery if fire or excessive temperatures are detected...

Removing an aftermarket crank pulley from my BRZ prior to returning the lease, I did a stupid and read only part of the instruction on loosening the belt. The instructions called for using a breaker bar to turn one of the pulley bolts clockwise (tightening direction) briefly to get slack into the belt.

I don’t mind slowpokes in the HOV lane - it’s the HOV lane, not the fast/passing lane.

I know this is a bad time, but... Can we talk about that image looking like a celebration of Michelin Man hanging himself?

I did the rice thing and added an HKS exhaust to my Fit. With the short shifter, lightweight wheels, camber bolts and rear sway bar, this is a hilarious car to hoon.

I'd buy that if I could.

    AMG? More like OMG...

I’m a sucker for DTM homologation specials like the 190E series Evo and Evo 2, or the E30 M3. Or Alfa Romeo GTVs and other GT racing-inspired models.

My number of tickets has gone down drastically since I got rid of my BRZ. I'd argue I still drive fairly quickly in my Fit, but no one suspects the econobox hatch...

Tbf, interest rates should’ve been raised around 2012 when it was clear that the great financial crisis was behind us.

I can’t believe $50,000 is downmarket these days.

“Legal” pedestrians know not to cross dangerously in front of pickup trucks and SUVs. Ergo, only “illegal” pedestrians would be killed, and they shouldn’t have been there (in the road, the parking lot, the country, etc) in the first place!
