This is probably right. The ones who suffer most from Hong Kong’s repressive turn, are the ones who can barely make ends meet (if at all).

You say “autonomous flying car”, I say “kamikaze drones” - same diff?

Thanks - my current place doesn’t have a charger, but the next place will (and we’ll keep a gas-powered car as backup anyways)

Well, I’m not American - where I live, gun crime is rare enough that non-fatal shootings make the news.

I agree with some of what you’re saying: I think we as a society could all stand to be kinder to each other.

They were designed as a joint venture to split the costs. You’re splitting hairs over 2 low volume sports cars that are (as you noted) identical (so we could for all intents and purposes, treat them as one - which is what most people do).

Cutting off Facebook was one of the best things I ever did.
I think Reddit is next on the chopping block.

I’m beginning to see the wisdom behind an older relative who steadfastly-refuses to watch/read the news (except maybe for local news).

You’re absolutely right - we absolutely should be better (“they go low, we go high” so to speak). And I agree that echo chambers of all sorts are why we are where we are (even as I myself have posted a frustrated/angry/acerbic/accusatory comment or two in this same article).

This is true. But one group is far more likely to whip out a gun and shoot.

    Fair enough, not automatically.

Eh, it's on its own platform. Sure, they had to customize a modified Impreza platform, but the "custom" part puts us into semantics territory.

I wonder if this is just an unavoidable step developed societies have to overcome - we’ve already taken all the low-hanging fruit of the post-war years, to the point where keeping the levels of growth and prosperity that a broad segment of the population enjoyed from the 50s-90s is simply untenable or unrealistic -

Yeah, that does seem low - too bad; the Mini would be on my list (the missus has always wanted to have one).

I remember doing the math when I got my ‘13 BRZ: the cash price would’ve been $31k CAD; inflation-adjusted, that would’ve been the same as the original RSX Type S cost, but with RWD and on a bespoke platform.

I wonder if the Niro (which I assume to be a taller vehicle) allows for a thicker battery to be used? Maybe the weight difference is attributable to body panels and interior materials/NVH (the Mini would be more upscale, so I’d expect some of the weight to be accounted for thusly).

    Thank God for that.

There are a couple greys crying about me “othering” people.

I hear it’s still in Beta testing...

Heck, it might be better for the environment to keep driving what you have. The idea that “enlightened consumerism” will save us is such BS.
