Even rebuilt-title S2ks are commanding a premium now...

Gotta deliver value for the taxpayer!

You never know when you might find yourself on the salt flats trying to outrun a helicopter, I guess?

Yes, if track times are the priority - but there are people who hit the track not for the track times, but for the feels. There just aren’t that many places where you get to enjoy the full rev range of a car (manual or auto) outside of a track!

Kinda surprised no one is making a big fuss of the electronic parking brake replacing ye olde mechanical handbrake.

I think that makes sense for a daily-driver (which most of these cars will be).

Yup - I remember that world as well. I think it really changed once automatics went past 6 speeds (to the 7- 8- or even 10-speed automatics of today). You can just fit in a lot more gear ratios (and go taller for those upper gears).

Yup - they were commenting about “successors” but the Yaris WRC is very much alive and well, which is why I omitted it.

Eh, more like any of the WRC homologation models Toyota had in their history (several generations of Celica GT4/All-Trac models, and the bugeye-before-WRX-did-it Corolla WRC)

Thanks for the thought-provoking read. Didn’t know this history behind Labour Day.

Right. Michael Keaton is putting down the deposit...

Tim Burton is scrambling to find his credit card to put down a deposit right now.

Sadly, when people think of “nuclear power”, they’re thinking of either a mushroom cloud, or Chernobyl and Fukushima.

Hammers are for REAL men, that’s why”

Yeah, but the first one is what got us here to start with...

I'm seriously considering this as a family car (though probably a few years down the road, used).

More like “Ferrari 812 Superfat”, amirite?

It would be hilarious (and also infuriating) to find out you could book a flight between Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Arsenal at the Emirates...

This makes tons of sense, especially when the rail network in Britain is probably better than what we have in North America... At least it makes sense for domestic league games in England (matches in the Champions League or Europa League would take place all over Europe, so a plane is unavoidable there).

Tesla’s announcement isn’t intended for you or I. Nor is it likely intended to be taken as a practical, or realistic statement of intent.
