The car’s top or mine? Need additional details.

This was one of my few gripes with my old BRZ - the trunk was pretty spacious and useful, but loading it was a bear - for larger items, you’d have to move the passenger seat forward/recline it, fold down the rear seats, and load it in from the passenger door.

I wasn't ready for this interpretation of "ran when parked"

    2003 Toyota Echo.

Thank you for “shedding” light on the subject, instead of spinning some old yarn about it!

How do the wool seats play with static electricity? I’m sure Volvo’s engineers have thought that out (especially given the dangers of static electricity + gas stations).

Gah - thanks for the correction.

Reminds me of the Challenger space shuttle - a $0.50 O-ring claimed the lives of 7 astronauts (comparatively, Alonso losing a crack at the podium is minor).

The username might be missing an extra “s” before “water” given the quality of the take.

Might have been a timing issue too - when small EVs debuted here, China was still a much smaller economy. The small EV doesn’t necessarily make sense in North America (whether by perception or reality) so not a surprise it faltered here (except for very committed and wealthy buyers) - fast-forward 3 decades, and the

Agreed! There’d be some great knock-on effects from that, from a government revenues and infrastructure perspective - not to mention the market would probably shift towards lighter vehicles, which would help from a safety and climate perspective.

I suppose we’ll see - of course, a mass transit proponent would point out that the increased damage and wear from a bus, is offset by the higher passenger capacity. But point taken!

Eh, I’m pretty sure sedan and hatchback drivers (some of us) grumbled about it.

How many hippos would weight the equivalent of an EV pickup?

This deserves all the (somewhat aligned) stars

Exaggerating to make a point, but when the Hummer EV weighs over 9000lbs (and other EVs routinely weigh 5000lbs) expect accelerated wear on roads and infrastructure.

Frankly, regarding the diehard Tesla crowd/Musk apologists, I’m not convinced all of the enthusiasm is for a cleaner world, rather than the desire to project a certain image (and the perception of status that brings).

3rd gear: My gawd, is that Toyota’s music?!

Not to mention the havoc all that weight will cause to our infrastructure.... Those divots in the asphalt at bus stops? Expect more of those, but not just at the bus stops.

I’m guessing the cop would prefer that - no audio means the cop can say what he really thinks about the subjects/peasants under his (imagined) domain.
