They do. Spend any amount of time inside STO, and you’ll run into them and their extreme logic-fail rationalizations for why they hate that super-macho white Manly Men aren’t the be-all, end-all of Star Trek.

Was that outline the “Journey of the Whills” treatment of which a small portion makes its way into A New Hope and which barely bears resemblance to the sequels/prequels, or was it closer to Star Wars as we know it at that point? 

One of the big mistakes Disney made when it was putting together its new Star Wars movies is that it went in without any real plan.

It gets even more ridiculous when you meet the *SAME* kind of bigoted, hateful assholes inside the Star Trek fandom — shows that were literally ALWAYS about breaking these imaginary barriers white people put up to keep themselves isolated from reality.

I actually would rather have it be option 1. But to be honest I stopped caring - and by that I mean paying attention to the details - about plot after Code Veronica. I love RE games because of how they feel to play and because I am a sucker for horror settings. 

Counterpoint: this movie is inherently ridiculous and the song choice accurately reflects this.

On the toy, it looks like the axe is made from one of Godzilla’s dorsal fins, so it might be able to do just that.

I think there’s a real point to be made about the balance and focus on the human sections in these movies though, and probably the best way to include humans in them is the Pacific Rim way - in giant robots. All too often there’s too much weak drama, between characters we don’t have any real reason to care about.

Oddly enough, the spectacle offered here *made* me want to watch this.

Two hours of just giant monsters punching each other would, believe it or not, get pretty boring real fast.

Disney’s methodical (until covid) and quickening release schedule has so reconditioned our concept of blockbuster movie timelines that the 25th (!) movie in a 13 year old franchise is considered too soon to consider going slightly meta.
