TLJ still has some of the best Star War’s visuals even in Lego form.
Yeah but if you look at the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes you can see that peopled hated the last jedi, not just the type of people who spend all day on reddit complaining that Rey is a Mary Sue and then decide to review bomb the movies audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Definitely one of those take it or leave it kind of films.
I think Pacific Rim deserves a little more credit than that. It opens with a short fight but after that there is no Robot monster fights until at least an hour in. The split between monster fighting and human drama is probably similar to the Monsterverse movies.
I feel like the Snyder cut has really overshadowed the last couple of DC movies, all of which were pretty strong in their own ways. Specifically Aquaman, Shazam, and Birds of Prey.
Yeah Ayer wasn’t a bad choice. I’m sure his original cut had the “War movie but with super heroes” tone down. But I think that is only 50% of the equation.
I think there is room for both. I just keep going back to Gears 5 Escape which works. You start with all the same mechanics but then as you learn how to play you can give yourself bonuses that let you excel in the type of role you play on higher difficulties.
There are a long list of reasons you could argue Guardians 1 & 2 are the best movies in the MCU. DC grabbing Gunn and by all accounts letting him make exactly the movie he wants is a super strong move. Even without the trailer I was hyped.
I partially agree because I personally prefer that approach to co-op design. Give everyone the same mechanics, learn to work together without any specific roles.
HBO Max pissed off every single one of their directors and probably doomed (duned) many of the movies to have no sequels.
Florence Pugh is 100% going to be Black Widow going forward.
That’s the whole point though. They already have people who will see any super hero movie. James Wan produced both the SAW franchise and The Conjuring franchise. They want some of that sweet sweet low budget high return horror cash. Basing it on a comic book property means you’ll get that horror cash and some nerds…
Everyone who comments about superheroes is always super skeptical about The Trench spin off, but that seems like a pretty easy success to me.
Personally, I don’t think this game can be saved by post game patches.
I’m the same way with TCW. I’ve tried watching it in every order people suggest. I think the show does everything it wants to do right. But it’s just not gonna happen for me. Just not enough meat on those bones for me to dig into.
They are two very different animals and the reasons they are good are very different from each other.
I really can’t wait for the Switch version. (Hopefully it doesn’t suck)
Maybe my expectations had just been lowered because of the internet hate but Tenet blew me away. It really is Nolan at 150% warts and all and I love it for. After watching it I instantly ordered the steelbook.
Counterpoint: As someone with not a lot of free time for gaming, I love playing a few hours of a game every 2-3 months. Keeps me interested. I can easily beat episodic games but I’ve beaten maybe one 50+ hour game in the last five years.
