Yeah it feels like there was a ton of key characters left out of the show from books 4 & 5. Young Griff is a big one. Mance Rayder is still alive in Winterfell. The faceless men are up to something in Westeros. The list goes on.

Thank you. That’s what I’m saying.

So my friends and I did a Game of Thrones death pool this season and one of the bonus questions was “Who will be on the Iron Throne at the end of the season?” worded exactly like that. I wrote “No one” should I get full points for it.

Maybe if people stopped sharing it, it wouldn’t get so many signatures.

Yeah and just because one version of something worked doesn’t mean there can’t be a better version for different people. See pubg, fortnite, and titanfall fortnite (?). Like imagine if Indiana Jones came out and everyone was like “welp there’s our one action adventure movie, no more”

Yeah, I would honestly bet right now that Spider-man doesn’t even mention he was gone for 5 years. At most, it’s just a joke about how he was gone.

I would still eat 10 of them every time

Yeah there is a lot of anger based on just “Dany shouldn’t be evil” and not “The writing on this show has been shallow for the last few seasons”

Not to mention one of the army’s ENTIRE culture is based around raiding and looting cities. What were they ever going to do in Westoros both during the invasion and after?

But he also says they need to grow and change. A new name represents a fresh start.

If you really think Brick, Looper, and The Last Jedi all have “atrocious” writing then there is no point in arguing with you.

Honestly, I always try to stay positive but (and I haven’t seen all their work) to me all their work doesn’t inspire confidence. To be fair, with a screenwriting credit and can be almost impossible to tell who actually wrote what and how much of it so it is hard to judge them on a lot of their worse film credits. But I

nah lol

See my problem isn’t that it’s just the last season, season 5 to now has been a huge drop in quality. Martin gave them the outline but they very clearly weren’t sure how to tell the story even with the plot points laid out for them. I try to be an optimist but Benioff’s writing credits also include Wolverine Origins

No, no, the problem wasn’t the plot points it was how the story was told by the dudes who adapted it.

So firing them two years before the release or 3 months into filming?

I mean I can see the temptation to believe it. I want the books so bad and believing this would give me some glimmer of hope. But alas I am not an idiot.

Nah I meant more that the story feels more like a series of plot points and doesn’t have near as much depth as it used too.

Yeah, I’ve been saying since they passed the books it’s felt like a SparkNotes version of the story. A lot is happening that makes sense on paper but just doesn’t feel emotionally satisfying.

See but I also thought the purpose of that scene was to show Vulture wasn’t holding a grudge and was protecting Peter. Buuut maybe somebody kidnaps his family to force him into the sinister six.
