That is not correct. What we know as Hamburgers are American. What you may be thinking of is a Hamburg Steak, which you would never confuse for a burger.

Medium is the term you are looking for, not Well Done. If you go into Medium Well and Well Done, it dries out and is awful. But Medium is cooked through to the proper temp - no pink, still juicy. If you aren’t grinding the meat yourself, it is probably wise to go Medium (which most chains cook to anyhow).
