A Christian with no empathy is not a Christian. The Gospel makes it clear that you should take in the stranger and honor the poor. If you fail at the basic teachings of Christ, how can you call yourself a Christian? Seriously? It is the religion of empathy.

You are one of the lucky ones.

Funny, because I see a string of conflicts of interest highlighted pretty clearly. You read the article?

Can’t deal in idealism. Reality kills that on the daily. I’d rather have the power of labor in the hands of labor than in a group that can collectively be purchased by the moneyed elites. So yeah, even idealistically, I am not for that.

Only if they are devout Taco Bellers.

The way I see it, the union is basically trying to provide a collective benefit and that’s a role better suited for the government.

This is what journalists should be doing. Calling to task the corrupt and questionable officials in our gov’t. It is a shame it took this long for it to be as mainstream, but this is hardly a “hit job” as much as the media actually shining a light on the cronyism and corruption in DC.

So that sounds a lot like an industry with limited jobs and enough workers to cover their jobs, generally. I wouldn’t stay this is indicative of all other unions, or even more than a small fraction of those in more niche industries.

  • Eating before prom is very smart.

Do you have any evidence of the difficulty of union membership? This strikes me as an old wive’s tales. No offense.

Yeahhhhh no. Uber just makes a little less profit, but the money to be made is still huge. It isn’t like they will suddenly stop hiring drivers. They just need to actually treat them like human beings.

I did read the article. I was saying that in a general sense, which seems pretty obvious. And what is even the point of your response? Just fishing for that “gotcha”? Tragic.

...what does Christopher Walken have to do with Dune?

That is but only one style of NC BBQ. I live in east-central NC, so I run into the vinegar-slathered chopped/pulled variety more than anything else. It is absolutely fantastic.

Anything not Cuban in Florida is generally horrible.

I can’t imagine why, when people say:
“Ive spent a lot of time in NC where they make some of the worst BBQ on the planet.” lol

I have actually had BBQ from just about everywhere in the Southeast. It is all good. NC also has like ~2 types (sometimes 3) so it is hard to hate on the whole state. The vinegar style takes some getting used to, but if you get it from a good place, it is life changing.

Depending on the policies of that place, generally yes. If you as an employee changed the music to something vulgar, that could potentially upset the customers and cause a monetary blowback - yes.

I wouldn’t expect a warning given the content. Especially in NC.
