Clu Gulager Alert!

It is troubling that an encoded email could start a war. On a related note, one of the last three satellites designed to prevent an accidental missile launch recently failed.

Season 6 is ok, but I think it gets flack because it had an awesome premise that was quickly discarded. The first four episodes raised the stakes above pretty much any other season, with countless suicide attacks in the U.S., racial tensions, even internment camps. The government even paid a huge ransom to the Chinese

He'd already pulled up a video feed of the aircraft carrier (giving Chloe her chance for an audience-surrogating reaction shot), so I think he's pretty much omniscient here.

Wayne Palmer did go from running down terrorists with Jack to being President in, like, one year. Tony's had more than enough time to get a full pardon and go into politics.

Vice President Aaron Pierce!!!

They secured the floor Simone was on. I'd consider that an honorary perimeter.

Ah, so he's a predecessor to the Roomba?

There's been talk of doing just that (i.e. have a single Olympic facility that is used each time) given the extreme costs involved in building a complete Olympic setup every four years.

I thought Honey Boo Boo ousted them in a bloody coup?

Former Senator Bill Frist would be most hurt by your wanton auto-deleting.

Origin stories make more sense in this era due to the growing importance of the international box office. A studio's guaranteed to get a few hundred millions with a Superman origin story in the U.S., and the possibility of introducing the property to, say, China is too great to pass up.*

I believe they said the first 8 hours are going to be consecutive.

Now I'm thinking that Season 5 of Arrested Development is going to involve a Game of Thrones crossover, somehow.

CBS would never do sci-fi. A police-procedural, romantic sit-com, on the other hand…

Just watch the vampire interview from last week. That's the Colbert Report in a nutshell. Rush, I think, is the name of the guy he interviews.

Re: President, it's more of a late-Reagan bad vibe than conservative-fantasy Reagan vibe. It seems more likely than not that the dementia (and his unwillingness to acknowledge its effects) will come back to bite him soon. There are three ways for a president to exit 24: in disgrace, a coma, or a body bag.

And the Russians hired the Chinese

It would be quite funny if CNN were on in the background throughout the season and, no matter what happens, they're still just covering the missing airliner.

There must be ways around the separate series issue (maybe if the writers waive their right to compensation?), as this isn't a problem shared with other franchises. Stargate Atlantis, for instance, added two former Stargate Sg-1 characters (Rodney McKay and Richard Woolsey) to its main cast after they were introduced

The cost comes in the novels…when the Borg swoop in to eradicate the Federation (and, to an extent, succeed) because of Janeway's actions.
