Meh, working with computers, especially network stuff, is kind of a masochist’s dream, anyway.
If you’re a decently skilled computer user, I’d suggest considering the DD-WRT route (mentioned in the main piece).
I think DD-WRT is the way to go. I switched to DD-WRT a while back, and I will never buy a router that isn’t compatible with it again. Although it’s a workaround in this case, the perks of DD-WRT would probably make it seem like a free upgrade rather than a compromise.
