Honestly other than Suicide Squad he’s been good-to-great in all his roles. People just like to pile on the guy for that movie.

TBF that’s basically all of the Mad Max films. The only one I’d say he’s solidly the only main character is the first and even that could be argued as more his wife’s movie than Max’s. But Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome were very much Max just being in another’s story and helping them succeed.

As others have pointed out it’s also in the original Japanese version. It’s just something that was messed up when they translated it to English.

I held out hope for a long time but his latest update of maybe there being a ASOIAF book next year and it MIGHT be TWOW made me realize he’ll never finish the series. We’ll probably get TWOW but we’ll never get the last 1 (more more if you think he can’t wrap it up in only 2 more books).
