Per the original investigation, they were fine for intracity trucking uses, which describes the typical school bus service. What they were not good for was for continuous operation at high loads and highway speeds. Engineering recommended against selling them for RVs but a section of management thought re-classifying

An alternative to these rosy numbers exists. Tesla uses possibly fraudulent accounting practices to make themselves look completely differentiated in the marketplace. Elon has established a culture of fabrications and exaggerations to raise funds and boost his stock price to line his own pockets. The recent spate of

Having recently sold an older BMW, I can say that a big selling point was the binder with 20 years of maintenance receipts chronologically arranged. I think that alone was worth $2K.

My dad is really meticulous about this stuff too, and its so damn cool. He’s got a folder for every car that was ever in the fleet over the last 35 years. The only problem is if you trade in at dealer, they rarely give a damn if you have all that, so he’s kept all of the records.

this is what led me to finally dispose of my TDI . . . what had been milage in the low 40s was now in the low 30s with no reasonable explanation. A $4000 estimate for lots and lots of emissions work later, I am driving a new car.

I have a binder for each of my cars. One car goes back to when it rolled off the lot...

I intended to do that when I bought my last car. Set up a binder and everything.  Eventually receipts started getting shoved into the glove box, on to a shelf in the garage, not making it into the binder.  At this point it is just an incomplete record.  Maybe Carvana will stick around long enough to buy it from me.

Oh how I loathe marketing people.

Hey don’t knock the Encore, I used to lease those out to old folks for like 100 bucks a month!

I sort of get the impression this vehicle would look the same if the picture were taken in black light instead of normal light.

A proper truck diesel with about 350-400hp and a couple thousand torques would be my choice. Or a Detroit Diesel for the period correct soundtrack, but that would not be nearly as efficient.

Seems like it'd be a good candidate for a Godzilla and a 10 speed, no?

The salespeople always leave out a bowl of Werther’s Original, and they know that every grandchild is “Just the cutest little dickens I’ve ever seen!”

I think a major factor is that Toyota doesn’t have a direct relationship with the dealers and dealer groups.

While it is nothing special, it’s a very simple thing to offer up and keep everyone happy when I show up and my appointment email doesn’t match their system. Took no complaining on my part, they guy just said ‘we’ll add this coupon and throw in a tire rotation for the inconvenience.’

I can help! This is my friends dad’s vehicle. He owned a body shop in Texas and built it before retirement. He loved shortened vehicles and they tow this behind a converted bus. They moved to Richland several years ago when my friend got a job up there.

Gotta give him some credit for building a car company from scratch along with the charging network. He duped various state and the federal governments into subsidizing the purchase of his vehicles which might be his greatest achievement. /s

He’s rich enough to literally do anything he wants so, of course, he’s interesting. He’s living the dream many of us wish we could, just hopefully we wouldn’t be as much of a giant douche canoe while doing it. 😂
