I hate-watch The Affair, but this was actually a pretty good episode. Sure, some moments made me roll my eyes, but overall it was just so SAD.

Which would be AWESOME. Brendan Fraser was hands-down my favorite part of S3.

What do we make of Vik leaving all, or most, of his money to his parents, and none for Helen, when he thought she might be raising his child (without him)?

Both those sex scenes would have been infinitely more interesting if the sex didn’t actually happen. If they made a mature, self aware choice like the grown men they’re supposed to be.

i don’t trust any one narrator, so that could explain Nan’s version of events re. the timing of her pregnancy — also Gabriel could have lied as well. for all we know, Cherry was knocked up, sent Gabe to CA, yadda, just like she said.

I’m a little shocked at the B-grade you gave this. Cole’s part was good but Omar Metwally’s performance was the single most moving performance I’ve seen on TV these past few months, maybe even the whole year. The choice to interact with a character as static and one-dimensional as Sierra was a little jarring, but

Clarke will do anything to protect her people. That’s been consistent from the beginning. What’s changed, especially with this time jump, is how she defines “her people”. She is a kru of one, Madi.

The interesting thing is that what made her so effective before is actually counterproductive now. Madi has it right.

Murphy starting the fighting through Chinese whispers and then throwing that rock was awesome, typified by how unashamedly pleased with himself he was the entire time. The dude lives for chaos, and I love it!

-This show’s starting to lose me, in part because it’s hard to maintain any sort of momentum when it seems to air sporadically

Yeah, I’m with you. That creepy therapy session was just too weirdly personal for people who hardly know each other. I honestly thought he was going to kidnap Alison when he took he on the boat. I am sure Ben will be the reason for Alison’s disappearance.

I agree! I find him very creepy. He’s much too forward much too soon, and the overly familiar vibe he’s working on with Alison doesn’t seem like a strong connection but rather stalkerish. During the boat scene it actually felt like he might hurt Alison. I was expecting him to attack her.

“Noah’s gonna Noah”.  Bless you to the moon and back for that.

I don’t know about that. People could certainly misconstrue it that way and that’s a concern in itself. But to me they’re showing how ridiculous it is that she has to resort to something like that when she’s already a wife, step parent and worker. That line about ICE not bothering to check seemed more like an

One of my oldest friends gave up on her dreams of being an actress (despite being tremendously talented and a stunningly beautiful human being) because the director (being in his movie would’ve given her her big break) propositioned her, essentially saying she’d get the lead role (that she’d already earned with her

Absolutely. It’s an unfair request.

If anyone is a “horrible” person in this episode, that’s Vic, who guilt trips a woman to have his baby, when he won’t be around to care for it. Seriously, making a 40? year old woman have a fifth child alone? What if she dies, who will care for it then? Insanely irresponsible. Not to mention the sex scene bordering on

I feel like judgments are made so easily here. Helen a “horrible” person because of what she did this episode? Hardly.

I actually felt sympathy for Helen. She really couldn’t deal with the way Vik was shutting her out so she lashed out the only way she could. Vik was being a major prick, especially the way he was basically forcing Helen to have a baby, but again it’s totally understandable for him to be like that.

Full disclosure: Kang is male.

I mean, to mean to me, that’s what this show is and that’s the format we’ve had the entire way. I wouldn’t expect anything different. Deviating from that would be pretty surprising.
