Plenty of people enjoy story-based indie games, myself included. Don’t generalize your particular proclivities to everyone. Edith Finch was outstanding and deserved recognition.

Hey, I’d have issues too if my father was a child molester.

*Roy Moore grins lecherously.*

Yes, but Stephen, if you battle orcs for two hours a day for the next year, you’ll get such great value for your $60 compared to a movie or TV show (assuming you don’t rewatch, nobody does that, look over there!). And imagine if you play for two hours a day for the rest of your life! Think of the VALUE!!

I assume there are no difficulty settings? Too bad, I’ve had my eye on this, like exploring big open worlds with interesting questlines, and get a kick out of some jankiness, but not when the difficulty is high. When unlocking the map without obstacles will take dozens of hours, I don’t like spending dozens more hours

Like two weeks ago there was a justified outcry over Tyrod Taylor being benched for Nathan Pederman. The only reason the outcry was louder for Eli is that he’s a 2-time Super Bowl MVP and a celebrity, but they’re both justified.

I like how you got a snarky response to your original comment, you provided an earnest and valid reply that genuinely made me want to hear Stephen’s answer, and... nada. Props for not even being snide, I wouldn’t have been so gracious...

I know I’m probably being hypersensitive as someone who loves games but isn’t any good at most of them, but I read things like this and Kirk’s minimap elimination crusade as more verbose, more polished variations of “git gud.”

I dub thee Cowboy Kobe Judge, as it’s pretty clear which side of the divide you’re planted on all over these comments...

Found David Miscavige’s account.

I will be thankful when the exhausted, obnoxious “THERE IS ONLY ONE CORRECT WAY TO DO [X]” genre of fluff garbage blog posts dies the painful tortured death it so richly deserved 5+ years ago when these became entirely played out.

Oh, Lordy, I hope there are tapes...

Is the motion sickness stuff getting better with VR, at least? I’m not remotely interested until it’s minimized, which it doesn’t sound like it is close to being yet.

You know, Kotaku turned into an erotic MMO fanfiction site so gradually, I hardly noticed.

It seems like the focus of the podcast has shifted in the last few weeks from “game culture” to “internet culture.” Curious if that’s a deliberate shift or just happenstance. Found myself missing conversations about Splatoon and random visual novels that may have slipped my notice otherwise, but obviously the podcast

I’d be more willing to buy this if Gary Sanchez’s historic rookie season wasn’t followed by Aaron Judge’s even more historic rookie season and Luis Severino’s emergence as an all-star, all under Girardi’s management.

“May video game mini-maps slowly fade from the mainstream, eventually remembered as a crutch we used to use back when open game-worlds were still relatively new and no one was sure how best to explore them.”

Yeah, I mean, we’re still in the middle of that great recession with 9+% unemployment. Thanks, Obama.

What the heck does any of that have to do with this article?
