Sad sign of the times: it’s just a shot of Jackie hanging in front of a green screen and being unstrapped from the harness so he can go to the bathroom.

The “right-wing” stuff feels a bit hollow because the first movie ends with a bunch of rich bureaucrats’ heads exploding (followed quickly by sodomy).
It’s not dumb to be in a youth group. It’s just a fact of life for a lot of people, and even if you’re not a super churchy person it’s nice to have peer groups. (Signed, pastor’s kid who is definitely not dumb.)
Don’t knock church youth groups. My parent never made me go to one but one of my friends in high school would get forced to go by his step dad so he started to ask me to go along as his guest.
So edgy.
My hat is off to the amazing job the marketing team have done on this movie. I can’t think of any Stephen King adaptation so hotly anticipated by people who’ve never heard of King.
This. Very well put. Not all horror movies are going to be perfect. There is just something cinema-magic cannot do that your imagination can. Useless side note:: My favorite horror/scary/thriller/suspense whatever you want to call is it Event Horizon. I love it in all its cheesy gory glory.
This news makes me so happy. Jurassic World was innocuous, paint-by-numbers summer action fluff. Nothing about having him direct Ep. IX made me look forward to it.
Awesome. That old dude probably shit himself.
While it was both iconic and awesome (due almost entirely to Lee, Jim Kelly and, to a lesser extent, John Saxon), Robert Clouse was not exactly ... a visionary director. Also, it suffered from a fairly lackluster boss battle since Kien Shih clearly couldn’t keep up with Bruce at his age. The parody version in Kentucky…
His next project is a Men Without Hats biopic.
Brandon L... oh crap, nevermind.
I was hoping that Ignatiy would embed the bit of the Lee screen test he described (I first saw it in a documentary from the ‘90s), but it’s easy enough to find. And yeah, that’s some scary-ass speed.
This isn’t actually Hollywood. Most of the financing came from China anyway, still appalling they needed to had to make it from the perspective of a white-man. In this day & age, that shit shouldn’t be considered acceptable.
this show was so bad, it made me get a Kinja account just to complain about it
To each his own but I can’t imagine getting burned out that quickly on Songs for the Deaf in particular. That record just rages.
Yeah Era Vulgaris was great; also its singles (Sick Sick Sick and 3's and 7's) peaked at 23 and 25 on the alt charts while Like Clockwork’s (My God is the Sun and I Sat By the Ocean) peaked at 17 and 15... so both albums got niche radio play but didn’t exactly light up the charts.
Era Vulgaris is a hugely underrated album.
First we get movies focusing on Spider-man villains, then we get movies focusing on Batman villains, and now we get them focusing on Queens of the Stone Age villains. What’s next, a movie about villains of people we vaguely knew in high school?
I dunno why Era Vulgaris gets put down, I find it to be a solid rocker front to back. And IMHO, has my fave art work from all their releases.
