As long as someone tweets a comparison I’m sure Gizmodo will construe that as being tech related and post it here so we’re all in the loop.

I’d imagine it’s because people who write for news outlets keep using facsism incorrectly. Maybe they are just confirming that their original understanding of the word is accurate.

And they found out it doesn’t apply to the current situation in the US. Maybe the public education system could have taught that.
