I loved my ZX2 S/R. Thing was a blast to drive.

The new Integra is looking to be the same, its really a throw back to a “modern” version of the 90's styling.
Other fun story in the early 90's someone put 85 in a near empty tank of a Taurus SHO, and dynod it. Then filled the tank with 91/93 took it around the block a few times to get the last of the 85 out the lines. Re-dynod it and only made 2more HP. Neither octane knocked either.
Try finding e85 around Philly.
Part of the problem was that they early on teased a performance trim that never came to be. And the Goes Like Hell trim was mostly some stickers and a Brake kit. It didn’t GO like hell but it sure STOPPED like it.
A bunch of idiots in the WRX story a few days back. O posted my Integra engine thoughts there and a few people chimed in saying the 3.0TT would be used in the Integra Type-S like it’s SO obvious they would cram it in there and I’m an idiot for not just assuming it would be.
The MKV was the GTI my friends moved from Honda/Ford/Mazda over to. I was tempted but got a used 2003 mach1 instead. Every one of them swore off VW because of the car. I was still driving my Mach1 for years after they all got rid of their VW’s and moved back to Honda/Ford/Mazda
I’m expecting the base model to get whatever the new Si engine is, and hoping for a Type-S with AWD and the 272HP 2.0T. I have NO idea how/why peopel think Acura will cram a 3.0TT v6 into what basically a Civic. I cant see them at all making a 350+HP Integra.
I fully expect base motor to be a tweaked Si engine, and the Type-S to be the 272HP 2.0T. If LUCKY a lightly tweaked Type-R version.
Balance. Every other Acura isn’t based on a Civic. Can you imagine the balance when you put a heavy, larger 3.0TT in the engine bay made to fit a 1.5/2.0T? Have you seen how cramped the Civic engine bay is with the 2.0T? And you want to fit 2 more cylinders and 1 more turbo?
Till that 2.0T or DSG disintegrated around 60-80K.
I feel like the Si needs to be more like 220-240HP to justify its spot between the Sport and R.
I still call that small.
As a Mustang guy I’m sorry to see it go. A few times I nearly go one because they are just so much better bang for the $$ but the visibility just kept me out of them. I’m a bit shorter and it was a nightmare to see out of.
A small FWD v8 Blazer? Not happening.
If they wanted to make a REAL collectors edition they would make a package that looked identical to the ‘67 and ‘69 Pace Cars.
Why would they put a heavy ass 365HP TT v6 from the TSX into what is mostly going to be a remodeled Civic? If they were going to even come CLOSE to that they would use the 2.0T from the CTR. But Honda seems to be branding the Acura Type-S as a luxury counterpart to the Honda Type-R. So, I do NOT expect much more than…
I really don’t get why Maxima isnt just a trim on Altima. Just give the Altima the 3.5L, and some interior upgrades. They are nearly the exact same size.
Honestly most the issues are from MUCH older version, like pre-2013 or those that are behind a more beefy v6. Both of which created this utter hate for CVT. As long as you service it when you should and don’t drive it like a sport car you’ll get 100+K out of it. I know mor people that broke their Mustang transmission…
Actually, everyone I know that said it was a mistake is LITERALLY because of the horrible engine and build quality of the MK V. They loved driving it, but they always had issues, many requiring the DGS or engine to be replaced.
