Pilot lights... If they light but keep going out or wont stay lit at all, then its time to replace the thermocouple. Easy and cheap to replace. The way they work is that when they are heated by the pilot flame, the two dissimilar metals generate a small electrical current that is used to keep the pilot valve

Concur, these grandchildren of the 4.2 are easy 200K mile plus motors. Plus the generate nice torque. I just swapped an XJ 93 4.0L into my 81 Scrambler. Fantastic motor.

Even though your front brakes are 70% or so , with out the rear brakes your stops would have no stability. You would be all over the road and breaking in a turn would be disastrous

When building a Jeep, just get it over with and buy built Dana 60s, low gears, lockers, good winch, great lift, roll cage, 39" tires with beadlocks, skid plates everywhere , on-board air, 5pt harness, seats, and an Atlas transfer case. Oh and a trailer and a Ford F350 to pull it. Oh yeah for your

When you use a charger /booster (Type with different current settings) charge at the Lowest setting if you have time 2amp. If time is short , its ok to charge at 10 amp setting for less than an hour. Only use the 50 amp setting just prior to starting the car. Note: NEVER use 50amp setting on a MC or tractor
