I went to NTB for an alignment on a Suburban. Tried to charge me $75. I asked for the measurements. He reluctantly printed out the specs. Before and after, everything was in spec and no changes were made. He ended up apologizing and not charging me.

side note: I often pour 3/4 of my water through the grounds, then add 1/4 directly to the strong coffee. I find this preserves the richness without extracting the bitters from the grinds.
I've been hand pouring / drip in a cone for years. Med grind is good, too fine and the paper filter starts to clog. This causes water to flow too slowly through the grounds. This can add bitterness.
