I ordered a Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor, replacing a BMW i3.

I had an 88 B2200. First vehicle I bought new. I remember getting called up to be in a focus group soon after I purchased it as they were studying the new phenomenon of people buying small pickups instead of regular cars. I did it because it was cheap and being married with no kids, we didn’t need a back seat.

I have a 2015 i3 Rex. Yes it is ugly, yes it has wicked understeer due to bicycle front tires, but it is a hoot to drive around town, has excellent visibility, and the Rex (Range Extender scooter engine mounted in the rear) takes care of range anxiety. And since nobody wants them, they are dirt cheap. Mine listed at

I knew an older dude who actually had one of these back in the day. Doug failed to mention these suckers were front wheel drive! Engine felt like it was bogging down constantly. Land Yacht is a very fair description. Handled like one too.

Gives new meaning to the old man phrase “Get off my lawn!”

My mom had this exact year. It was a hoot to drive. “Lady Driven” means nothing, she was a maniac in it. I’d say NP for a nostalgic project car that will likely need more wrenching than a carb rebuild and is about the ugliest color scheme you could get back in ‘81.

I owned a ‘77 Bronco in the 80's and seeing this thing makes me very sad. Mine had a 302 and three on the tree. It was a hoot to drive. Wonder where the gas tanks went on this one? Mine had two, and the filler caps were on the driver’s side.

I miss my 2008 Mercedes E320 Bluetec. Fun off-the-line torque and an excellent highway car getting 34mpg resulting in a range that goes on longer than your bladder can hold out. It has been replaced with a Mercedes ML350 Bluetec SUV, pretty much the same engine but the extra 1200 lbs takes some of the fun out of it.

I can attest to that. Got pulled over in Fairfax the day after I put a loud ass exhaust on. I was pulling a stupid epic maneuver at the time so I guess I was asking for it.

He was trail braking into that turn. Notice how the brake lights stay on until he’s sideways, then he gets on the gas. It’s a decent way to get rotation especially in a front wheel drive car though this looks like a pretty extreme application.

That graphic told me more than I could get out of the dealer and the technical specs I found online. Thanks for posting.

...the Baltic Sea, a body of water that Russia has long viewed as its own front yard.

comparing power figures to the 70's is idiotic, and comparing horsepower to a time with different measurement standards is also dumb

No Diesel version? I guess dieselgate is in effect here. I drove a 2014 Q3 TDI and it was incredible. The gas 2 liter turbo doesn’t have enough guts for this car. It’s basically the same engine that’s in my VW Tiguan so it’ll cost lots of MPG’s to get any performance. Too bad VW just didn’t just suck it up and pay

Everyone around D.C. is used to snow by now. They’ve seen it. They know it’s cold. They know it’s slippery.

I did this swap. It was a long hard 12 hour slog. If you love working on cars and have done major surgery before (on the order of replacing a clutch) then more power to you. Otherwise, for the price difference between an SMG and 6 Speed manual, buy the 6 speed.

Audi TT. All wheel drive, could make decent power, and pretty cool looking. Thought it would keep up with STI’s on the track. Took a test drive and made some spirited turns only to find that I couldn’t see my line through the A pillar. Also felt heavy and sluggish. That was a disappointment. Got an E46 M3 instead. I no

I’m in VA too. Unless the vehicle is on a public street they can’t ticket you for that. Even if one of his neighbors or an HOA nazi reported him for having an eyesore on his property, the police can’t ticket a car on private property. People may have different interpretations but I was told by a police officer when my

A buddy of mine and I checked out an i3 a couple of weeks ago. The salesman claimed the 0-30 time is faster than any BMW in the fleet. Can you confirm this? He also said it was AWD which is wrong so I don’t have alot of confidence in this statement.

The 0% financing thing kindof irks me. You know they wouldn’t do it if they weren’t making money. They must pad the price of the car to offset the interest rate. You’d think you could walk in with cash and talk the price down but no, they don’t want to mess with that (in my experience).
