I don’t see the point of going there and don’t understand why you folks obsess over it.

If unlocking the bootloader by chance is even a thing, the Google and Samsung QA teams are drowing in fail.
I tried adding a card and the app yelled at me that I had rooted or installed a custom ROM so I was not going to be able to use the app. But I haven’t. It’s a totally boring stock S8+. I can’t even think of a setting I’ve tweaked that might have confused the app, but no, nothing.
I knew when I was 7 that I didn’t want kids. Everyone said I’d change my mind. For my 35th birthday, I got a vasectomy, and it was the best thing I ever did. And even the urologist was all “You’re gonna regret this” and I wish I could tell the asshole that no, I never once did. If you don’t want kids and your partners…
I’m reading Sarah Lohman’s Eight Flavors: The Untold Story of American Cuisine and, in her chapter on vanilla, I was surprised to discover that before vanilla, rose water was the base flavor that went into just about all baked goods. It seems so exotic now.
So Patrick, between this and your anti-ad blocker post last night, is this Lifehacker’s “Tangy Stank of Desperation Week”?
Do any post-Gawker writers use the mute or FF buttons on their remotes?
I’m glad to know this, and I will stop if you stop asking if you can clear finished plates the moment they’re done. No. I am with someone, and you should clear them both at the same time, even if he or she finishes a half-hour later. If you are out of plates and desperately need one, go to Amazon Prime.
As my cat reached and passed 18 a couple of years ago, she was clearly slowing down, but the vet always said any lab signs of concerns were well within reasonable limits. And my own knowledge of my cat told me she was still enjoying life. It was just old age.
One sunny November Sunday, I could tell she was struggling…
Thanks for the updates. I thought I remembered seeing Price listed when I was checking out the Continental’s calendar recently, but it may well have been a little longer ago than I thought. My friend warned me away from the Saxon this weekend, so I guess I just missed it, but considering all the gentrification going…
I dunno. I’ve never waited an unusual time for my burger at Casino whether going with a bunch of friends or stopping in by myself. Maybe it’s ordering it rare? Or maybe I’m just distracted enough. If I’m alone, I do try to order after there have been a few people picking up their orders, figuring I’m squeezing into a…
In defense of downtown:
Well, sure, but butter cut properly right off the stick is butter cubed.
I disagree. Even back in the ’80s (yes, I’m old), each night I’d drop a favorite cassette into my boombox, press the Play button, and wait for the timer to activate it at 7:30 the next morning. Then CD players, then networked music players. Every time I’ve done a bad job of waking up, the music has still been the good…
Not much of a cheese shop, is it?
I backed the Bedjet on Kickstarter. It’s a little pricey, but fuck yeah it pays for itself. I turn off the heat to my apartment entirely at bedtime, setting it to kick on about 20 minutes before whenever my alarm goes off. When I’m getting ready for bed, I load the app, tap Turbo, and climb into a comfortably toasty…
I respect you, Claire, but this time, I’m not going to try to argue with you... I’m going to turn my back on you. While I’m putting 1/3 half-and-half and 2/3 whole milk in my mug. And silently weeping that I even have to say “whole milk.”
There just aren’t any movies worth seeing. The last one was Hidden Figures. I canceled Netflix years ago because it didn’t have any good movies either.
Please, please, please:
No, I’m fine with it. I’ve already been resuscitated or otherwise beaten death a few times, and I’m not scared of it. After reading “How We Die,” a marvelous book, I realized we largely choose our deaths through our lifestyle priorities, and that’s all I’m doing here. I hope you can help someone who needs it, though.
