I was reading an article yesterday that said that SnapChat is based in Venice, so it's not like those Silicon Valley-based companies like Twitter or Facebook. I was confused by the end of the article, but I think the point is it's more cool, hip, and down with it, or something. Venice is Bad Idea Central, second in LA

I get this, but when you throw federal jobs into the mix, it gets more complicated. I have read that Cali would be net negative when you add that variable in. But truly, Alaska is "I'm against all entitlements! Except for the ones I get! Don't touch those!"

John Cougar Concentration Camp is my fave, up here in the bay area.

The the is up there. I think they get name checked every time they do this.

Is that Bobby Hull's number? Deep cut, man.

I also did not know that Franz Liszt was a dead ringer for Mr. Ed.

There's always the one or two that will surprise you. My dad liked cool jazz, but only the white guys like Chet Baker or Shorty Rogers and his Giants. His Pacific Jazz albums always had great covers. He also had a Gerry Mulligan 10-inch on Fantasy records that was on green vinyl. My mom played French Horn in high

Liza with a Z?

Herb Alpert's Whipped Cream and other Favorites is in there, for sure. As is some Ray Conniff and maybe some Mitch Miller.

Easy Riders and Raging Bulls describes this very well. This is a great book. It's also how Hopper could make such dreck after this, because the studio execs "just don't get it, maaaan!"

That was heavy symbolism, maaan.

It would be easier to say which Dennis Hopper moves were good. Blue Velvet has to be on top, and his scene with Christopher Walken in True Romance is a classic. I'm sure I'm missing some. I'll always have a soft spot for him because a joke a friend of mine made, when we were all shrooming and were watching rats scurry

The Last Movie is worse. And the movie about the making of it, The American Dreamer, has the review title "I just wasted 90 minutes of my life" on IMDB. Granted, Easy Rider is bad, and like Pulp Fiction birthed movies that were even worse.

Gore win the popular election in 2000. Who can forget the hanging chads.

And the Evolution Revolution were a sadly overlooked band.

And asbestos shavings from the homemade brake linings of a '55 Chevy.

His attempt at rap, however: "I know Communism like Che knows stadiums!"

That was fascinating, thanks for sharing!

One of these things…doesn't belong here…one of these things, isn't quite the same

I've gone from bitterness to wisdom, with a whole lot of rage and self hate in between. I'm with Sam though, things get better, believe it or not.
