I just saw the trailer. I'll watch the movie just to see her say "Eddeh?" again.
von Stroheim I hope
Jello Biafra always goes on about Heino. He has like 10 of his albums. Heino has not tried to get US acceptance, however he's definitely one of those Eurovision "would not work here" type of guys. Also nobody brought up Loudness, that Japanese heavy metal band that had a little success during the hair metal days.
From the picture, I think he'll start shouting at me to buy some stocks.
Will, as my friend says, "you can't hate it…it's only music." You should post here more. People on the avclub are nice and about the most informed people you'll read, and you add a nice sauce to the mix.
Dave Thomas did a spot-on impression of late Bob doing stand-up, with the occasional glance to the cue cards, along with the awkward close-ups.
Well put my friend! I would say that less mainstream singers like Dave Van Ronk would have more of a beef. The trio figured out how to make it palatable and commercial to a wider audience, which is about the most American thing you can do.

It's the truth, even if it didn't happen.
The Dissolve had some good, good writing, but it was hands-down the worst site design I'd ever seen. It was impossible to find anything - even new releases were buried. You'd have to try to make it that bad - it was just mind-bending. Too bad, with a better design I think it would still be around.
It was "jerks", for obvious reasons, but we'll accept that answer.
