"and if you leave it open for more than a day, it'll steal more of your memory than a bottle of José Cuervo"

In terms of practical app response, not just render time, I'm finding FF4 to actually be faster on older hardware than chrome. On my new box at home it's negligible, but at work on XP FF4 starts and runs faster, without lag when switching or opening/closing tabs, which I sometimes have in Chrome for no apparent

Indeed, but I was not referring to then VS now, I was referring to flickr's 600px version of this image vs the original, available via the source link. The small version makes some lines on his face that are just skin texture (for now) in the orignal.

Wow, flickr's sharpening is kind of cruel to poor Obama's face. the original isn't quite as wrinkly looking. :)

There are additional reasons not to go with a small SSD however - due to parallel writing mechanisms, some SSD models get significantly faster write speeds as you increase in size (look at the C300s on newegg), and bringing an SSD close to full capacity significantly affects it's overall performance and lifespan due

I would assume that like in Windows, this is also dependent on the SATA controller/driver properly passing the TRIM command to the SSD, so if you are using an SSD of your own in certain Macs, that might explain why you would experience performance problems. I just had to disable TRIM in Windows 7 because Marvell's

This was my only major immediate annoyance with 4. It was a long time before they made that prompt available in 3 after plenty of feedback about people wanting to save sessions outside of just when the browser crashed or was killed, and I'm kind of confused why they just disabled it in 4.

Unfortunately, Firefox Mobile still doesn't work on the original Droid/Milestone, which is, at least for now, still fairly widely used.

Excellent counterpoint. Numbers are a clean, simple way to make snap judgements and let you change weapons/jobs/paradigms to deal with a situation (or run away!) without much thought. You can register the change in a number peripherally without consciously focusing on it, like you often need to if you try to observe

Not only would it not be good news for large corporations, it would actually make it near impossible for international corporations in certain industries to do business in South Korea due to conflicting privacy and security laws. Seeing as international business is a big part of South Korea's economy, I don't see this

A stylistic cross between the original and an icon, a smaller blue button with partial firefox graphic (make sure to combine the background-image line if it pastes as two lines, or it won't work):

Somebody pointed out the tab bar goes up further when you maximize the window. That would provide more space - though I usually don't use browsers maximize myself at all, I probably would on a netbook.

"It's moved the tabs to the top of the window, which saves a ton of space"

People are quick to accuse the foreign media of spending too much time talking about the reactor, but forget that the situation at Fukushima has had a significant impact on foreign events, as the outcome of the crisis would directly influence ongoing and immediate nuclear power debates in Germany, France, the UK and

The people stupid enough to buy the tablets did so well before there was any real news about it - the major distributors online sold out within hours of the incident. Lets not forget the Chinese market's massive run on salt. Paranoid people are everywhere.

As mentioned at the end of the article, these do work better from an amplifier (and a decent one at that). The drivers are not nearly as efficient as those in modern headphones, and so they tend to sound notably better with a bit of added power. That does drive up the cost if you are looking for audiophile sound,

Nice article.

If you don't need the disk space, you can get the same with accessories (these are all really cheap accessories by the looks of it, and the controller is standard normally) for the same or less new. I would say avoid, it's not worth the headaches. If it actually had an extra controller or a Sony remote it might have

I don't think it's really appropriate to bring up these quotes on Gizmodo of all places at this time. Even in Europe there is not a consensus regarding the nature of the situation, and those in the EU understand better than people in the US that these statements are heavily politically driven, thanks to ongoing, angry
