I've used daylight CFLs for years (all set up as indirect lighting) and couldn't go back. A little warm up time is a small price in my opinion for natural light and low eye strain. Also, the warm up time is actually nice in the morning when you just wake up and your eyes need to adjust. :)

Most cables aren't meant to be wrapped this tight - you will probably permanently deform the cable and/or actually cause the copper strands to break internally. For the same reason, I wouldn't recommend these tie methods for a good pair of headphones either.

Shame all those trusted friends vanished when you posted the pictures from that party on facebook. Damnit.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I was never super bothered by the blue shell. It was annoying, but it also added a different sort of strategy to the game that kept mario kart unique - To maintain 1st, you either had to be exceptional, or you had to hold your position back and read your opponents right up to the end to take

My biggest problem with this whole mess isn't the AOL-like concepts, it's simply that companies are not just flocking to a particular application, but one with poor security, poor privacy practices, no respect of content rights... In all of these very core respects, despite all the other BS, AOL was actually a

There were some areas that were less strictly linear, but you were still forced in one direction ultimately. There were a couple later on around and after gran pulse where you had to do some real backtracking if you were trying to find everything. Like you, it just bothered people that it took so long to get to that

There's a difference between browsing the internet, watching videos, or reading on a laptop and reading on an e-reader or portable device with a decent high-res screen and the brightness turned down where it should be (plus some indirect room lighting for background light and low glare) for low eye-strain. The latter

I never thought of FFXIII as that much of a chore personally, certainly no moreso than FFX, which I find *really* similar. For games that truly feel like a chore, try borderlands single player, or any MMO. FFXIII I spent a couple hours goofing off in after work for a couple weeks leveling up, and spent the rest of the

I think he meant funny in terms of odd rather than pure humor. It is kind of screwy to make a point of it as the cancer was unlikely job related (though stress can accelerate the process).

OK then, I guess I just didn't find it that bad. It feels to me pretty similar to puzzle-platforming games like splosion man or limbo - making it through a whole level is one challenge, finding everything is almost without fail going to require a second playthrough of the level, even if it does take a while. I also

If you just need one for a project, check with your local photo shops. They often have flashes and lenses for rent. It may not seem super cheap, but if you only use particular equipment occasionally, it can still be worth it over purchasing. Plus you get a real flash and not a mod.

Not really cheaper when you count supplies and the need for an external power source. The power source issue makes it rather inconvenient to walk around or travel with too.

Sorry, I'm a bit grumpy this morning. I guess I just don't see the sense in this - much of the distraction in the content is actually the text, not the media, and I don't see how this can be disorienting except for to very particular personalities. Even if you are, that disorientation isn't going to be unique to

Quite simply... no.

While I tend to agree, I think these charts also show (especially when you look at the older higher ranking movies) that we tend to openly bitch more about movies than we used to. The internet, social sharing and the trolling mentalities have contributed to a general tendency even by "pros" to just lamblast things

My first card was a secured card with my bank, so to get a decent limit I had to put equivalent cash in a CD for a couple years (it actually worked out pretty well because the CD's return rate was really good for the time and made up for the annual fee and then some). Unfortunately those are harder to get now, and

The amount doesn't mean anything unless you are looking at certain loans - it's the debt/credit ratio (make sure by the time you get your statement your balance is under 10-15% of your limit, as that's what's reported on your credit report), along with the longevity of your credit history (you're going to have to wait

The statement above seems to ignore the fact that entertainment is valued differently in Japan because the lifestyle and social environment is different. It's not just arcades where people are willing to plop down double or more the money we would in america, it's damn near everywhere.
