Video games are generally centered around ideals, not around reality, and don't really fit the bipartisan buckets (which aren't really as firm as people like to pretend to begin with). For example, most of the examples are military/combat - While military *spending* is often a clear bipartisan political agenda,…
Actually it comes from the food distribution companies (Sysco, FSA, etc.) that supply fast food restaurants, which differs by region. They make some things specifically for certain customers (like I've seen Sysco's custom labeled pitas for pita pit), but the company only provides the specifications and sometimes…
Thanks for the correction/clarification, I'm a bit spacey today. ;)
It's a shame that this even makes it as a headline news story. It doesn't take much critical thinking to get that this is a massively overblown story.
This is not a P&S - it is pro camera that isn't an SLR (heavy duty construction, APS-C sensor, high end prime lens, primarily manual controls). We've gotten so used to having only two categories of camera that we forget that there can be other varieties.
I can't even get the video to play at all.
@locomodo: I did read the article, thank you. Google artificially populated the collected data by IE/Bing toolbar by changing their search results and then deliberately searching and utilizing the results to up the page's ranking in MS's database. That is different from proving they mined google's results. What they…
@jdale: As stated above, it is opt-in, and it is explained, though as I pointed out, users still usually don't understand it. I'm not disagreeing that it is open for debate, just that the debate isn't properly represented.
This "Bing stole our search results" crap is really getting annoying. I'm fine for having this discussion, but at least portray as it is. Microsoft is not scraping search results - they are analyzing their user's browsing behavior *at the client*, and *with permission of the user*, to see what users clicked on most…
Much more excited about the NGP, even if it costs $400 - and I'm not a big fan of the PS3 or PSP. I just look forward to having some current gen graphics capabilities paired with real controls on a portable system. If anything the dual touch interfaces seem like overkill. I just hope this leads to a real game…
JRPGs don't need to drastically change, the solution is much simpler - try bringing in good writers and making solid, original story lines with characters that aren't massively obnoxious. Even with the linear gameplay, I'm pretty sure FFXIII could have done much better in the west with solid pacing, a few less plot…
Um, actually those ingredients aren't really all that bad considering - heck, I'm just surprised they only use beef for the meat portion. Considering this is filling, not just the "beef", having less than half of it be beef by volume/weight is actually to be expected. There's a reason the second ingredient is water.…
@spiderweb1986: Note I was primarily pointing out downloadable games with lightning deals as a side note. Those online deals were (for the most part), not quantity limited, and available for at least 24 hours.
If you are a PC gamer, nothing could touch the downloadable game prices around black friday and christmas, be it from steam's sales or other services including amazon. Amazon's best lightning deals on console games were closer to the holidays as well.
@ursa: For US residents, a debit card use in Canada is usually processed as a credit transaction (where available), and in Vancouver at least, I ran into several restaurants over the past few years that left your credit card number on the receipt. Maybe that's not true for debit transactions. I also didn't see it…
"For example, many businesses—particularly restaurants—still print credit and debit card receipts with your entire number on them."
Not worth it most of the time, as most hotel chains don't give away upgrades like they used to in my experience. You are more likely to just end up in a crappy noisy room by the ice machine or elevator because the rest are all taken. If you value consistent decent rooms over the chance of an occasional upgrade at the…

@NiTeShADe: Canada has significant CDMA coverage, and the phone will roam there, even if it is not sold there. That's enough for the vast majority of customers, so that is all VZ cares about for now.
