I’m 6'1 and I’m reclining every time.  I paid for a seat that reclines, it’s more comfortable if I do, so I’m going to do it and I’m not going to begrudge the person in front of me for doing the same.  But please, feel free not to recline if it makes you feel morally superior.

In my experience iPhones are fine as long as you have any sort of case that sticks up slightly beyond the screen.  I didn’t use a screen protector for 5+ years with no issues.  On my xR is put a screen protector that goes edge to edge to provide that smooth swipe he describes in the article.

In CA I haven’t seen many with seats that didn’t look like that.  I had a 98 328i about 10 years ago and the seats were already starting to crack like that.
