I’m always tempted to touch hands hanging out windows when splitting, but the last thing I need is for them to latch on. Glad to hear someone is living my dream!

Rock the bike back and forth and you might free up enough drops of gas in the tank to make it that 1.5 miles next time. Learned that trick from a post (I think Wes wrote on that other site) and it saved my butt on the way home from work awhile back.
So you’re saying you prefer people break their stories up into paragraphs?
The 5 speed tranny is definitely one of the most annoying things about the Bonneville, although I have been guilty of searching for a 7th gear on my VStrom 650.
Looks like the idle speed adjuster has finally gone the way of the dinosaur. I’m curious about those MPG claims and if they kept the fuel tank the same size. Possible 250+ miles per tank?
I finally gave into the itch 2 years ago at age 29. Over 32k miles later it was the best choice I ever made. My first bike was a ‘82 Honda CM450C I bought off a friend for $1k that topped off at 75 mph. I survived 6 months and 6,000 miles on that thing in LA/OC so don’t worry too much about top speed, as long as you…
I don’t understand the mind set of people who obviously don’t ride motorcycles who consistently come here to troll those of us who do. Get a different hobby please. (This refers to the actual trolls, not people who simply have a differing opinion.)
How long until someone complains about one or more of these being “hipster”?
I’m not the one who uploaded the video to YouTube, and while I agree 100% that Keith Code should be financially compensated by anyone who watches it, I also am not going to pretend like its not on you tube dozens of times and the copyright holder is not having it pulled down.
This made a huge difference for me:
The only place I make a u-turn to the right is at a gas station.
I get the frustration with “clutch control” and making tight turns at low speeds. For me personally it was really a matter of learning the friction zone of my bike (how little can I release the clutch before I start moving) and remembering to look where I am turning. My brother is a police motor and watching him abuse…
That’s where I got mine too, they’re not super willing to deal on the Bonnie’s, but they treat you with respect. I do have some issues with their service department though....
The engine size of the current Bonnie is fine by me, however as someone who slid out by locking up the rear tire I definitely look forward to ABS being an option. (Obviously my fault, but it would be nice if the bike had prevented it.) Also, a larger fuel capacity with similar/less weight would be great.
It’s a decent looking bike that all the ‘real’ Harley guys will tell you is for women.
Welcome! Can’t wait to have a great site to visit for my daily motorcycle reading fix again. I’ll be riding Palomar tomorrow, now I have to add Julian Pie to the agenda.
