RIP Toyota USA Museum 😢

Doesn’t lend itself to flat rate for sure

Toyota van was Master Ace, not Town Ace, but Previa access luckily was better than both of those.

I love Saab, but “Do what Saab did” is almost never the answer for business success.

Their pitch was that the grey market cars were more dangerous because they hadn’t met FMVSS like the officially imported examples, so the goal was to effectively kill the grey market.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a dumb rule, but that’s how it started.

Mercedes-Benz’s US distributor lobbied for it in 1988 because people were importing their own MBs for significantly less than they cost through official channels. 25 years because the car will be old enough at that point that it won’t interest the casual buyer and isn’t a threat to new car sales.

Any word on CarPlay, or is that still Entune only?

I hope I’m wrong, but I’m assuming this is another new Honda that looks like a hatch but has a regular trunklid.

Bummed to see touchscreen HVAC making its way down the line.

If it’s like the Shuttle, but ever so slightly visually off-roadish, is it more like the Beagle?

I love the Beagle. I want the Niro with a bull bar please.

I love everything about the new Accord except how it looks. Should I still get one?

They work fine for the application and last an exceptionally long time. No grief from me over rear drums here.

Golf and Jetta still come with a 5 speed manual, apart from GTI/GLI, though GLI is DSG only for ‘18.

This, along with proximity key, are things I only got on my most recent car and can’t imagine buying another car without.

JDM Aeras model had painted trim and bumpers toward the end of the run, but I think it still needs the black strip below the greenhouse.

The panel under the passenger seat has to be removed for most work (remove sill trim, seat, fold back carpet, then like 10 bolts), but once it’s off, access is actually pretty good. I’ve done plugs, valve cover gasket with no issue, and alternator and stuff are out front.

Why is there a Lexus badge stuck to the right side of the dash?

Our RAV4 took a solid 6k miles before it started creaking like mad.

The non-turbo GT will start at 19,350. Probably a fairer comparison.

I’d give Freeman Thomas more credit for the TT than Schreyer. I am a fan of Schreyer’s work but the production car was thankfully close to the concept version.
