Except here’s the real issue with everything, and the only thing I can find to agree with SGX. They’re taking his actions in game and bringing a form of retribution outside of that specific virtual space.

Now, I have never played NMS, but the easiest solution is to shut him down in game. Make his life there difficult,

Not really. This is a game, which apparently provides the means to do this kind of stuff. And he does have an audience that likes his act.

This. So much this. Games are fair, and if you do well, you will progress and be rewarded, unlike in life where it’s pretty much RNG.

Good thing he’s not doing that, then.

Taking the original twitter spat alone, her behavior was ridiculous. She posted a multi-tweet essay, essentially, to a public space. Someone respectfully commented on that essay and she began passively insulting him.

Genuinely shocked about Fries. I can’t fathom how that warrented firing.

The big thing is that video games are fair, and life isn’t. Even the hardest most obscure ones are built on logic that you can learn, so you know if you try hard enough you can figure it out and overcome it. So of course there are going to be people who find refuge in them when the rest of their world is garbage with

I still don’t know why some gamers are so hesitant to admit that this is an actual issue. I know quite a few. I am sure a majority of us know somebody with a form of digital addiction and gaming addiction is a subset of that. I had a former friend who feel into alcoholism due to gaming and its a path I’ve seen people

This is an excellent article that talks about a real issue in a fair-handed and non hysterical fashion.

The Last of Us has the best ending of any game I’ve ever played, easy. And one of the best endings I’ve ever seen in just about any story (book, movie, or TV show) I can think of. (Which is one of the reasons I’m both excited for and really nervous about the sequel.)

This isn’t as great as the time when Sony dunked on Microsoft about letting friend’s borrow physical for this gen. But it’s up there, especially since it’s both Nintendo and Xbox poking fun at Sony. Too bad Sony doesn’t want to play ball.

Now, now, let’s all just be reasonable and go back to playing our respective games... oh, right...

how is this any different from getting estimates? these are basically proposals being submitted, and you pick the contractor to go with, everyone that doesn’t win the contract is SOL.

I must be getting old because I remember when companies would run contests like this with the idea that your submission MIGHT make it into the game/show/book/whatever. And IF it did, you were just happy to have something you could brag to your friends about.

I dunno, I thought it was pretty cool.

I canNOT roll my eyes hard enough at this.

If you as a developer are really serious about challenging how we as a society and how the games industry specifically views violence, then just don’t have your game be violent. Stop making the player’s primary interaction with the game world violence. THAT would be a

There’s a difference between deliberate political intent and applying your views onto what they’ve done.

Looks like a sequel to the Jump Super Stars DS games?

I feel like that’s not what is important here, dude.
