I read that the engineers for the razr originally wanted to use Carbon Fiber for the phone but it screwed with the signal. I'm guessing the kevlar method they used would give it properties similar to carbon fiber. It could be that a slightly flexible yet strong material was what they were looking for.

When Can I buy the phone at rogers? My razr V3 just died, and I think this would be a suitable successor. Is it already on sale or is it coming out after the US?

Carbon Fiber also lacks rigidity. Kevlar and Carbon Fiber can both be coated with resin to gain rigidity. Just like Kevlar Carbon Fiber is a cloth, and through application of Resin, both can gain exceptional strength.
