Speak of the Deville

I’ve never met a man who was stronger, pound for pound than my little 5 and a half plus foot Italian grandfather who drove these things for a living. And that includes my father, his 6'5", Ivan Drago looking, built like a Mack truck son.

I had to go back through my records to make sure these were the same guys I’ve worked with and yep, they are. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with these guys. Damn shame.

Well done you magnificent bastard.

I was a weird kid who loved Caddys, Lincolns, and Oldsmobiles even more than muscle cars and (God help me)...

Listen, I’ve given you some shit before about some of your opinions and boy do I love starring comments that take the piss out of ya. But by god is this the best article I’ve read on this site in a very long time. Great writing and a nice little love letter to one of the great gear head saviors.

Yup. I’ve been a life long GM guy but I have to give FoMoCo this one. They’re fun out of the box but have so much potential. Best part is that you could build yourself a pretty fun ride for dirt cheap and it’s still gonna be more reliable than 90% of the stuff you could buy/modify from the same era it served in.

These are already starting to blow up. Maybe they’re already at that point but hands down one of the best blank canvases to hot rod from the last 20 years. And no, I don’t mean the Marauder. I’m talking the plain Jane P71 and civilian cars. As stock of the clean low mileage ones dwindle, they’re gonna to become a hot

The blinders around here are seriously astounding.

So you mean to tell me the guy who installed this tasteful set of “mods” is asking over $10k above market value?

My aunt introduced me to B5 when I was a kid in the late 90's around season 4. Not because she was a sci fi buff, no, because she was a big literature and art buff and a graphic designer. I specifically remember her telling me it was the most visually and emotionally beautiful/moving thing she’d ever watched on

Tri-spoke wheels

From Oak Creek Vista into Sedona is one of my favorite stretches of road so far. I lived in Phoenix for a few years back in the 00's. Packed a few friends into an ‘88 Brougham and took a trip up to make it to the GC by sunrise. On the way back we just decided to wing it and take 89A instead. Made it to Sedona at

I’m lucky. My company gives me a new crew cab pickup every 8 months or so. I had a 2019 Sierra SLE last year/beginning of this year and moved to a 2020 Silverado LT in April. I quite literally switched over to a 2019 Custom Z71 5.3 this morning temporarily while we wait for the backed up 2021s to finally be delivered.

You are not the only one. I had a 2003 1500 HD company truck that I loved. The pre facelift models are a nice classic design but the cat’s eye trucks were cool too.

I’ve got a construction zone story.

You’re probably right, maybe I am giving the general public too much credit!

I see your point and know the utility of a van, I worked out of an Express van for a while and I personally would drive the crap out of a minivan. But alas, a minivan wouldn’t cut it for what I do. TBH though you don’t really need to think about throwing plywood over the tailgate/dropping the gate and strapping it

I’d rock both Snooder, what does that make me?

I manage a department of a gov. fleet lease company. We love stocking PDs with pickups and we love the forest service contracts for this reason. We have one large and very well known department of the federal government (can’t name names here) that rents brand new 3/4 ton trucks from us every winter, puts about 500

As a pickup truck driver myself this is a spot on, well thought out take. I drive one because I am a blue collar worker. I grew up working out of trucks. But I’m also in a way a pickup enthusiast (yes, that’s a thing, I know some around here can’t wrap their heads around it.) along with my other automotive kinks. I
