You must not drive very far into Connecticut.
Corporate espionage my dude.
Yup, we covered that above. Either way the Civic ended up looking more like the Cadillac then their shared precursor. I do like all three cars though so I’m cool with the similarities. See, the Cadillac is the infinitely cooler and better looking car in my opinion, so it’s subjective I guess. I’m not sure why we’re…
I wouldn’t kick either one out of bed.
Now that’s a good one.
All of the “greats”, even from almost a century ago, understood this and played into that. Even dudes like the Undertaker, ones the general public would probably consider super masculine/scary dudes in real life, actually consider themselves artists and dedicated themselves to the storytelling craft more than anything…
Careful now, I think some Civic fanboys didn’t get the joke.
I don’t think anyone who comes around here would. Just noting the striking similarity in the body and character lines. The original post was a bit of a joke because when the CT5 came out, we all commented about how it looked like Cadillac “stole” the Accords C pillar design. Now the Civic debuts and looks like it’s…
Yes, I am aware the Accord was first, but the Civic definitely ended up looking more like the CT5 than the Accord. They also chose to debut it in an awfully similar color. Now it’s entirely possible they really aren’t attempting to crib each other, but between the front and rear facias their similarities are uncanny.…
... And the beltline, The hood crease coming off the A pillar, the entire greenhouse, the detail at the bottom of the doors, and even the tail lights kinda crib Cadillac’s new “arrow” shaped lights. Not much else though.
Thank you for that, I couldn’t get Kinja to work the way I wanted.
You know what they say... the sincerest form of flattery and all.
Funny you mention the sales stats for the Ford and Chevy trucks. A coworker and I were having this conversation the other day. Ford sold hundreds of thousands more trucks than Chevy in the 80's and 90's but you don’t see nearly as many Slant Nose, Brick Nose or OBS trucks still running around as you do Square Bodies…
I just want to know how I can get those steelies in a FWD offset!! These are probably all renderings and those were grafted on without offset considerations, but a guy could dream!!
Ah see, I thought the same thing. But this thing lived it’s first ownership in Wilmington DE and about 3 years in MD. Which could be better or worse depending on how you look at it.
I agree with you about Carfax in general. I buy and sell about 1500 cars a year wholesale. There are a ton of inconsistencies with this thing that Carfax kind of gives credence to. The evidence points to either the owner knew the oil needed to be changed every year and did it himself, or they followed the mileage…
Checked the Carfax. This accrued 10k miles in the first year. During that first year it went into service 5 times, 3 of which were to check the Airbag systems.
