You’re right but the belt lines on everything got taller in the last 20 years because of pedestrian safety regs. In every other dimension theyre practically the same. Yup. A regular cab truck is definitely smaller than a crew cab truck. Not the best example.

Compare that ‘87 with it’s modern counterpart (reg cab, 6 or 8 foot bed) and the two trucks are almost identical. Granted trucks now are slightly taller, but that’s because belt lines needed to go up across all vehicle types.
