You know, politics being so boring that comedians just make boring jokes about it sounds nice.

I think what your examples tell you is that it’s lunch time.

Do you tell the families of people who died in United 93 that they’re “appropriating 9/11" because more people died in the towers so their deaths don’t matter?

Weimar Germany issued legal, doctor signed passes for transvestites, that served as legal recognition of their gender transition and barred them from prosecution under anti-crossdressing laws. The Institut fur Sexualwissenschaft, operated by Magnus Hirschfield, operated one of the first and most important research

I get that this point is purely about sticking it to trans people, but even if she wasn’t a shitheel this comment would be such peak millenial brainrot. Yes, the baby wizard books lady is the greatest author of our generation because it was the only long book you, personally, have ever bothered to finish.

I have a mild form of autism that used to be named after a German doctor who helped kill people with said condition. Less people with autism died then Jews but they absolutely were targeted and killed.

I dunno, in my opinion he was corpsing a bit too much in the 2000s.

The problem with Wiig’s sketches is that while she’s funny and versatile, they almost always boiled down to “hey, do this one silly thing over and over and over for five excruciating minutes.”

Pretty crazy that 14 of the 25 cast members listed here were part of the 2005 cast and 4 of those 14 (Hader, Wiig, Samberg, and Sudekis) premiered on the show that year.

I agree with this, Schneider may not have sexual abused these kids behind the scenes and but the labor issues, the sexualization of children on camera, favoritism, etc. but all these things really leaves them open to be groomed and abused by others on set.

I spend a lot of time evaluating new documentaries for festival consideration, and the trickiest call to make is always whether an interesting or important subject is enough to recommend a film when the actual filmmaking is subpar or biased.

holy shit! a Random Roles, on A.V. Club? In 2024? Amazing.

And the inevitable porn parody: Pole Man. “All The Dude wanted was his pole back!”

Yeah, this trailer does not scan good to me, describe me being a huge fan of everything and everyone that is in it.

It’s so fucking good. And whoever did the casting should’ve gotten all the awards. From Gosling and Crowe having excellent chemistry, to even Crowe’s wife (her five seconds of screen time are just amazing conveying a sense of awkward contempt, embarrassment, and awkwardness with “I’m fucking your father”).

God I loved “The Nice Guys”  - I wish that film had done better and we could have gotten a sequel. Ryan Gosling shrieks better than any male actor living

Well he plays a character named Walton Sobchunk who won’t stop yelling about how he has to give stuff up for fuckin’ Lent.  He also says “You’re in over your head, Daniel!”

I’m really happy this didn’t turn into a “Marc Summers was sus” article.

I can understand wanting to distance himself from all of that but, honestly, his genuinely shocked reaction only made him look better. He doesn’t have anything to be upset about (other than the events that caused the documentary to exist at all)

But you get a lot of directors and producers with big egos.
