I too raised an eyebrow at reading the headline before the article laid out its case. Another pass from the editor would’ve helped.

Counterpoint: we’ve polarized and lost empathy to the point that large portions of America reflexively side with corporate interests. Not because they trust them or have better experiences but because they have the shortsighted attitude of, “Tough shit, my work treats me like garbage too. Stop whining and get a real

SAG-AFTRA’s Rejected Contract Demands Seem Beyond Reasonable

The people that fit into the middle of the venn diagram of “Can afford an expensive EV” and “owns a house they can charge at” have been saturated. For the rest of us that can’t afford one of the decent EVs, will never be able to buy a house, don’t want to buy a house, or all of the above are out of the market.

Maybe it has something to do with the massive mark-ups on any popular EV?? I was really interested in a Mach-E GTPE when they came out, but they were impossible to find. When a local dealer had one on their site, I showed up to find it was the pre-ordered car of a sales manager who straight up told me he was going to

But then you have to own a Tesla model 3, the most generic and boring of the electric cars.

Counterpoint: The Bolt is awesome transportation for the money.

Yeah, but you’re still buying a Tesla, which is objectively gross.

If they were just electric cars and not spyware on wheels, a lot more people would be okay.

For most people in the US, buying a vehicle is a big purchase they don’t do often. It doesn’t surprise me that people are hesitant to spend (often more) money on a vehicle that’s a new technology to them and will make them change their normal vehicle habits.

Along with what many are saying about prices, subscriptions, and such; I will say my biggest hurdle is still range. 300mi is the number I want but I want to be able to hit 300mi minimum when it is 115F as well as 0F.

Ex) Car and Driver says their real world test of the Ioniq 6 shows 260mi range. 100mi less than the

We’ve pretty much run out of first adopters willing to make lifestyle changes for their car. That is all. It is all about the charging times now. Get it down to the same time to gas up your car, and then they’ll take off in gen pop.

You must have never driven one of these.  Ain't nobody paying 4.5 k let alone 7 k

85% of servers don’t want to remove tipping in favor of something like 15-20/hr lmao

“(A)nd a comically big bass box taking up the entire rear seat.”

Tipping shouldn’t be expected in restaurants either. As a European visiting the US recently it was so strange to me. Tipping should be an extra addition if the service/food was particularly good because the staff should all be getting a livable wage.

People have also been thrown in prison for simple possession because they simply had possession.

A union suggesting “tipping” in lieu of a living wage doesn’t understand the assignment. At all.

Agreed - I’m sick of this “tipping culture” which completely out of hand now. It’s like everyone wants a handout for doing their job.

I am not tipping an Apple “Genius” for looking at my cracked phone screen and saying, “Yep, that’s cracked.”
