Interesting. I never connected my dislikes for cilantro and dark chocolate. Although I can do arugula and black licorice in small quantities.

I’ve had countless Mexican and Chinese dishes ruined by hidden cilantro that couldn’t easily be picked off. There’s a delicate balance between such a small amount, I can’t really taste it vs Ugh cilantro. The worst is when bits stick to your teeth so you get the taste until you manage to swallow it all.

I hate when media and law enforcement take a lot of effort to protect the identity and privacy of the racist white person in these situations. At the least, the woman was known to shout racist things and throw stuff at children. Of course the victim’s personal info is spread all over the place.

Disappointed not to see William’s cop girlfriend Yvonne, Cee Cee Michaela, included. She was one of my non-main characters on the show. It was nice to see a blue collar working Black woman in a non-traditional blue collar job.

People often “smuggle” fruits and vegetables from back home to bring a bit of grandma to America. I can understand the emotional impulse but an insect or weed with no natural enemies to keep them in check can be devastating.  Not worth it.  They’ll have to be satisfied with memories. 

Where in California have you heard Long John Doughnuts? Maybe a town or neighborhood with a lot of Midwest transplants?

On the west coast, in California, those long donuts are called bars. Usually maple, chocolate or plain glazed in the case, together. The ones with custard inside are called filled bars.

People who use wheelchairs, have other mobility issues and/or no car access literally cannot get off their ass and go to the store and get their own food. The closest restaurant, Panda Express, is about 1/4 mile from where I live. All other restaurant options are farther away.

I didn’t know this was a thing (well known restaurants selling under another name) until I saw a TikTok on it. Just makes me want to avoid the mediocre to poor brand name, usually national, restaurants even more.  I prefer to support local family or new restaurants.

I hope DoorDash and GrubHub follow UberEats. In addition to the same menu, ghost kitchens also use the same food photos. That’s how I noticed them in the first place. Now my rule for ordering is that the restaurant has to have a Yelp page. Even the smallest hole in the wall Mom and Pop stores have a Yelp page, even if…

I enjoyed Sir Kensington’s Ketchup every time I had it. Unfortunately, it was rarely available on the grocery store shelves at ketchup re-up time.

It’s an overused phrase but definitely applies here: the way EMS Peggy Finley and Peter Cadigan treated Earl Moore Jr. on the scene was shameful and unprofessional. Anybody with working eyeballs could see the man was seriously sick. He was lugged around by his armpits and thrown on the stretcher face down.

These ideas would be helpful to communities supposedly served by law enforcement.

Curious how rumors that one of the 5 fired officers is the ex of the mother of Tyre Nichols’ son. But that bit doesn’t appear in any official comments.
