""If you stick a knife in my back nine inches and pull it out six inches, there's no progress. If you pull it all the way out that's not progress. Progress is healing the wound that the blow made. And they haven't even pulled the knife out much less heal the wound. They won't even admit the knife is there."" -Malcom X

Was the Boston Tea Party "violent"? It seems really strange to me to make attacking a person and a non-person equal. While rioting is generally a pointless act of aggression which only harms the community further - it seems really odd to me to consider it "violent" unless people are being attacked.

It's actually very common. I had the same experience and so has pretty much everyone from a catholic school i've known. The catholic church is pretty progressive about science these days, just not social issues.

It amazes me how arrogant people can be over the realization that there is more than likely not a flying magical man watching you masturbate. As an agnostic (weak atheist/logically consistent atheist) there is definitely a dogmatic element among most strong/evangelical atheists. While likely a minority, they are VERY

Paul Atreides (Maud'dib).

The final result of a 10,000 year breeding program to produce the ultimate human with the genetic memory of his lineage to the dawn of his species, and able to use that knowledge of the past to give context to the future to such a level he can see it and shape destiny like a butterflies wings

I'm a guy. We really don't need to be pointed out and specifically included in everything.

I'm white, when people say racist shit, it really bothers me, but not in the same way it bothers a person of color. This is no different.

11/10. Best Kotaku article ever, by far. Sadly, it won't get the clicks it deserves.

Hell yes, I caught like 2 episodes as a kid and was hooked - really dark and intense, especially for a kids show. I'd get up early to watch it every weekend for months, but never managed to see it again.

Good to know I wasn't the only one who read this and thought . . ."ok". This feels like some pointless rant you'd seen in your facebook feed.

Now playing

No Astronautalis? Seriously?

Good to see Sage Francis get the credit due - but where's the rest of the Rhymesayers, they should dominate this list: POS, SiMs, Atmosphere. . .

They're "socialist" in the same way they are a "republic".

Ie, in name only. They're a command economy which is why they are often characterized as being socialist (ie, State Socialism) - but all economic activity is conducted for the benefit of a bureaucratic elite, which is really "State Capitalism". It's kind of

But there may be a hardcore "liberal", but it's definitely not "left". The distance from me to a liberal is several orders of magnitude between the difference from a liberal and an objectivist.

I'm a Communalist (type of Anarchist). We're probably polar opposites on the ideological spectrum socially and economically, but yeah, I empathize. I get really sick of liberal sources and their large government hierarchical apoligism.

The problem is a lot of people equivocate Free Markets with Perfect Competition (which is just a theoretical max, like perfect combustion, that doesn't exist) - so they attribute qualities to laissez faire capitalism that aren't really there.

Hillary Clinton is pretty horrible though. Probably less horrible than anything the Republicans can put up, but let's not pretend she's not horrible.

Get the fuck out of here regardless. This country is insane. As soon as I finish that Masters my ass is heading to Iceland.

Lots of us notice it too, generally, we don't care though because it just means maybe more speeding tickets - most are happy about it, for, you know, the reasons you've noticed it : /

Eh, go to any major protest. The police are definitely proactive.

WTF, no full text? Super lame.

Well, if the state owns the facility and it operates tax/fee exempt, the overhead should be low enough to the point where it's just a matter of time before they recoup the overhead and then the expenses are just fuel, maintenance and wages. Yeah, it's all just speculation w/o the data, but going by the closest
