A great story, and illustrative of the exact points that you bring up. History, however, came to a different conclusion, here's how the apologue played out: first, it's important to know that GM was one of the inventors of the modern catalytic converter, so just like Honda, they had a major investment in their…
Gotta love that cat - not only does he body block a much larger dog, he then spins around to make sure the area is clear, then chases after the dog!
That cat should get some serious tuna steaks or maybe even shark for this day's work.
as an encore, the cat took care of the local bear problem....

The problem with the US version for me is the sameness of the episodes. They buy three cars, make ludicrous modifications, and then destroy them on some road trip. Then Tanner drives a car fast. They need to change it up and make the scripted parts more believable.
The American ones are way too fake and set up. Forced dialogue and a amazingly forced plot. Don't even try to make them "seem" real when they're the farthest from it. That's the problem with our US version.
Gawker is leaking again...
Whats with every "writer" on this site becoming pretentious snobs? Can we get some new blood in here? Preferably non 30 somethings who live in New York who just bought their first car last year, and a pos VW at that?
There's a difference between having an influence on a certain aspect of a company (knowledge of ignition) and influence on that same company (well kind of same - old GM vs new GM) now as it's CEO.
You've stretched and split hairs with the 'influence'.
