Gallifrey’s yet-again destruction?
Gallifrey’s yet-again destruction?
Not just consistent, but with a more exciting and creative vision for the show.
Sometimes Jodie is brilliant. But the script this episode wasn’t doing her any favors. Her characterization was just so flat, kind of a weaker retread of David Tennant.
That was such a dreary hodgepodge of an episode. I think at this point I’m just nervously awaiting the finale and hoping they don’t tinker too badly with the Doctor’s history.
It’s only a passing reference in the article, but I enjoyed the example of what a good dude Christopher Reeve was.
And we were better for it, dammit!
The final 10 are already filmed.
With only 10 episodes left, I think Vikings has eschewed a good deal of its historical and legendary basis. There have been many significant deviations already.
My thoughts exactly. Gunnhild to the rescue!
Some of the comments I’ve seen from Ludwig and Hirst make me think Bjorn will return for just one more episode in a metaphysical role as he hovers close to death. But the remark about Bjorn still accomplishing something that shapes his legacy makes me think it will be more substantial than that, even if he still dies…
Don’t count Bjorn out yet....
Got to "gross," stopped reading.
I got a big (if twisted) laugh when Hvitserk stated that Freydis was dead, and Ivar’s reaction was an incredulous, matter-of-fact, “I KNOW, I killed her!” Like, “Duh! Thank you for this information I already have, Hvitserk.”
I appreciate the narrative choice to make Bjorn a benevolent king, but have that constantly work against him in Viking society. While he’s a weak and disaffected leader, he is somewhat noble and ahead of his time.
I enjoyed Larry, Leon and Jeff morphing into The Three Stooges, even if the number of viewers who would recognize that reference is greatly dwindling. It was possibly a reference to Larry appearing in “The 3 Stooges” movie from a few years ago, as well.
Careful, Dennis, don’t fall off your soapbox.
We certainly don’t want social commentary delivered by the crew from Bayside High.
It was jarring how quickly the Doctor shifted from her preachy anti-gun stance to planning to blow up a spaceship with electricity. Her willingness to fight back made for a more thrilling episode. (Although they dodged a dark turn by having the ship flee.)
I think there are 12 episodes left overall.
While this season has been a lot of set-up, I don’t mind because the show is letting its plot breathe. The last season flew through and truncated its storylines.
